Gran Turismo 5: Most anticipated PS3 game of the year

Gran Turismo 5
Released only on the Sony Playstation 3, Gran Turismo 5 will arrive on November 10, 2010. And like many other titles this year, it is a highly anticipated release, one fans have been waiting about four years for. The developers at PolyPhony tried to hold fans over with a prequel called Gran Turismo 5 "Prologue", a release that was poorly received amongst the gaming community. Prologue offered about seventy cars that were not tunable, less than ten tracks, and worst of all a retail sticker of $59. All that lunacy is amended with this final official release. Appeased fans will find over 1000 cars to drive/race, 20 tracks w/ 70 variations, and even a functioning online multi-player interface. Even better, gamers rejoice at the addition of Ferrari and Lamborghini exotic cars; models include the Lamborghini Gallardo, and even the Ferrari Enzo. There is also in game chat, online photo album and sharing, and even a built friend/community network. All this in the Playstation 3's stunning full HD graphics and only at $59, it is sure to be a hit. Expect it to sell out as soon as it hits stores, there also is a collector edition that will be released the same day; collectors' edition will have an exclusive numbered art book and 1:43 scale model of a Nissan SkyLine GTR.
All this fun and collect ability are rated E for everyone to enjoy. Right now will supplies last Amazon is offering a free promo code incentive that gives you a Mercedes Benz SLS track car, which makes for an awesome head start in the single and multi-player modes.
GT4
The year was 2006 when Gran Turismo 4 was released, on June 30, and was an instant sell out. Back then the car that was in the limelight and therefore the cover car, was the Ford GT, a retro of the famed GT40 of the 60s. GT4 featured over 700 models to race, from the Ford GT to the Model T. This title marked the arrival of rally racing duels on the street, within some of the most scenic destinations in the world, such as the streets of Costa di Malfi in Capri. GT4 was also the beginning of actually seeing your player in car steering and reacting to your precise controller input which was more notable when in a convertible with the top down. Sadly though, since it was a 2006 release, many were confused and ready for a PS3 ready title, so many overlooked just how remarkable it was. And just as with then with the lack of enthusiasm, prices for even a mint condition copy will be extremely low, around $9 to $14 incredibly.
Awesome and under appreciated by those outside of the dedicated GT audience, offers a lot more than Prologue for a fraction of the price. Rated E for everyone to enjoy this bargain and gem.

GT3
Almost a decade ago now, well summer 2001, Gran Turismo 3 was released. And as of May this year was certified at 94% at GameRanking.com. GT3 was the first of the franchise on the then new PS2 and for this it suffered a bit. Only 150 official cars are said to be on this release when compared to GT2's 650, which was due to many variables including lack of knowledge of the PS2's capabilities and time. This didn't deter consumers and editor's from buying and regarding exceptionally high though. The lack of cars was patched a little by unofficial versions of F1 and Indy cars that bared PolyPhony decals and fake sponsors. More unofficial cars were of a Lamborghini track car(only on Japan versions) and a Porsche GT3 car. Many gamers still play their GT3, further reinforcing the numerous lists and countdowns where it remains a top ten pick.
Rated E for everyone to enjoy, expect to pay only $5 to $15 for a game that has rivaled The Legend of Zelda in best game of all time countdowns for years.

GT2
With over 650 playable cars, and two disc, one with arcade mode the other with simulation mode. GT2 was a success as soon as it hit the racks way back in 1999, though a holiday release so many had to wait until early 2000 cause of demand. All those years ago it was coined the worlds greatest and most advanced racing game. Largely in part due to the fact that it had so many real world vehicles on so many real world tracks, and the fact that it was the follow up to the only available driving simulator, Gran Turismo. Many gamers never let go of there original copies, for sentimental and collector reasons alike. GT2 picked up were the first let off in major ways, new navigation layout, car wash, more tuning options, way more cars, better license system, and best of all was in the ability to upgrade your car to complete racing spec.Truly one of the hallmarks of the PSX gaming era.
All though this fossil has long been the topic of discussion, it has retained it's value well. GT1 can be had in excellent condition for $74 and used from $2. Rated E for everyone to enjoy.

GT1
The original and still considered by older gamers to be the best real driving simulator ever released. Number one was released all the way back in 1997 originally and was one of the PSX's flagship exclusive titles. Developed by Kazunori Yamauchi over an extensive five year development, the original featured eleven tracks and about 160 playable cars. Kazunori felt the void in the market as the primary racing titles out were either entirely arcade/novelty or just plain unworthy. Which is were the idea for the real driving simulator arose. Instead of aimless racing, players were now challenged to learn real world racing techniques and discipline, button mashing was virtually futile. The playing difficulty only took to racing realist whom craved a more technical experience with real world every day cars. The qualities that made it a success are the same attributes that have caused the franchise to retain it's status as the only genuine racing experience to this day. And for those of the gaming community whom are on team Sony only, great pride comes with such a legendary franchise being exclusive to their consoles.
Rated E for Everyone to enjoy and a classic. Prices are always going up for minty copies, especially if factory sealed, expect to pay anywhere from $20 to $80 new, and $0.01 to $3 used.
